Ben Yates who is the Chief Executive Officer of Caravan had a wonderful speech in the CTIF 2010.

Constraints of Developing Caravanning & Holiday Parks TourisBen Yates has been Chief Executive Officer of Caravan, RV & Accommodation Industry of Australia (CRVA), the national peak association for the Australian caravan and camping industry, for 8 years.

The CRVA has been headquarted in Brisbane, Queensland in Australia’s North for the past 4 and half years with it being previously located in Melbourne, Victoria in the South for many years prior.

 

The CRVA represents over 4000 industry businesses ranging from manufacturers of caravans, motorhomes and other Recreational Vehicles (RV’s), retailers of these products, over 2300 caravan/holiday parks, suppliers of goods and services and service providers.

Ben is also responsible for representing the industry on federal issues, liaises closely with the Federal Tourism Minister and sits on various industry committees when required. He represents the caravanning industry on the Australian tourism industry’s peak national body – National Tourism Alliance (NTA). He is also involved in funding submissions on various Caravanning related issues of interest and oversees the CRVA’s industry’s specific caravan park national accreditation and training programs.

In his time as CEO, financial contributions from industry businesses to the CRVA National Marketing Fund have increased by 900% with the number of businesses supporting the CRVA increasing by over 1200% from 118 to 1209 businesses.

Ben speaks at numerous Australian caravan park and trade conferences throughout the year and has addressed delegates at the 2006 USA National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds conference and at the 2008 inaugural World RV Conference in Germany being voted the best speaker.
